Further information as well as tickets for such excursions are available at the hotel.
Hiking: Santorini offers a wide range of spectacular walking paths, the most famous one leading you from Fira to Oia – alongside the extinct volcano's caldera. Another popular path is the one from Perissa up to Mesa Vuono, culminating in a breathtaking view of Ancient Thira. Afterwards, a 20-minute walk downhill will take you to Kamari where you can enjoy a dip in the sea or a meal in one of the countless local restaurants. Also, an old walking track was recently discovered in Akrotiri and it is highly recommended. Furthermore, the authentic hillside village of Pyrgos offers several hiking tracks: whether you decide to walk to Megalochori or Emborio, to Kamari by way of Exo Gonia and Messa Gonia, or to Profitis Elias, the island's highest mountain peak, every track has its share of spectacular views, unforgettable panoramic vistas, and lovely little traditional villages. And if you are looking for something particularly special, you can ask Trudi. She's never short of an insider's tip.
Wine Tasting: Santorini has been famous for its wines and its special viniculture methods. Cultivated in the oldest vineyard all over the world and affected by the unique micro climate and volcanic land, Santorini wines (Asirtiko, Vinsanto and others) are considered by the sommeliers as “real treasures”. The Koutsoyannopoulos wine museum is the only one of its kind in Greece. It is 8 meters under the ground occupied in a nature cave, about 300 m long and has a labyrinth-like shape. The museum presents the history of wine and the life of vine-growers in Santorini since 1600s.
